With the decline in modernism, there has been an effort to acknowledge earlier and current phases of cultural activism. This issue places community based art work in a contemporary context. An online questionnaire by Public Domain asks you to define “communities” and how you place yourself, as an individual and an artist, with them. The Artists’ Pages is a compilation of artist proposals for community-based works. We set out to evaluate the success of community-based art, to ask the participants from various from various projects whether involvements really did change their lives.
