Features in this issue are crafted around the idea of the "real lives of artists". To effectively explore this theme, an array of interviews by artists are include. Each interview addresses everyday issues, such as gallery relationships, working methods, and philosophical and cultural influences. All of the artists have ties to the Southeast. Articles by Lantz Caldwell and Timothy W. Luke address issues of universal contemporary concern: employment and ecology. Interviews include Dionisio D.Martínez's interview with Humberto Calzada.
