ART PAPERS 15.04 - July/Aug 1991 - SOLD OUT

ART PAPERS number 15.04 is a special issue on the Alternative Arts Press. ART PAPERS invited a number of writers and editors active in the alternative arts press in the US and Canada to pause for a moment and reflect about the nature of their field or their own magazine: this issue of ART PAPERS is the result. 

Susan Snodgrass and Grant Kester survey, respectively, the nature of the alternative magazines and the climate in which they now must exist. Tom Patterson provides a cautionary tale from his experience as an editor of a regional arts magazine. Also presented is a series of short 'reports from the field', giving information and updates about individual editor's and magazine's own struggles and achievements, as well as providing perspectives on the field as a whole. Lastly we feature (apart from numerous reviews) an incomplete list of the magazines in the alternative arts press on the inside back cover. We invite audience to conduct your own survey of this lively, engaged, and essential medium.
