This issue reveals the results from our artist call asking, “What Next?” In the artist pages, many responded with work that personalized or politicized the relentless innovation demanded by the art world.  Overall, the submitted work had a recurring theme of movement from a negative vision of the present toward a critical art practice confronting millennial despair. In this issue Jay Murphy interviews Frederic Jameson a cultural and literary critic. June Shcnieder interviews Eiko and Kuma, two “post-new-wave” Japanese American choreographer-dancers. The issue also includes a review of “Cuban Cinema in Exile” and “Found Around the South,” as well as reviews of the recent exhibitions of Sosephine Sacabo, John Sex at Rio, Ti Shan Hsu, Eileen Tanatillo, and Juan Logan.
