Yulissa Ayala-Valles (b. 1997) is a multidisciplinary designer based in Atlanta, GA. Her creative approach revolves around materializing visual rhetoric of public memory, intangible sentiments, spirituality, music and literature. Through an improvised and meditative praxis, Yulissa’s work aims to process through the emotional fringes of her cultural assimilation, identity loss, and the joy of envisioning new futures outside of dated binaries.
Yulissa was selected for the High Museum’s Summer Academy program in 2022, and has exhibited her work at MINT Gallery (Atlanta, GA). She has provided design services in collaboration with various local, non-profit galleries in Atlanta including Swan Coach House Gallery, Science Gallery Atlanta of Emory University, and MINT Gallery.
